Dear parents/students
I am writing to you in respect to Taekwondo discipline, which is now an
Olympic sport and gaining popularity amongst school children very fast.
However, some elements of other discipline are also conducting classes in
various schools in the name of Taekwondo thus teaching wrong techniques to
youngsters and placing them on wrong track from the very beginning. To refrain
from such elements please go through the following:
Taekwondo became an Olympic discipline in Sydney in the year 2000. It was also a discipline in Athens as well. Taekwondo is also a regular discipline in Asian and SAF games as well.
unarmed combat taekwondo club one and only authorized club affiliated with Chandigarh taekwondo association, Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI), which is in turn affiliated to Indian Olympic Association (IOA), Asian Taekwondo Union (ATU) And World Taekwondo Federation (WTF).
This club has an on date about more than five hundred athletes practicing Taekwondo under color belts and about more than 50 Black Belt athletes registered with UCTC. Our target is to raise 1,500 Color Belts and 100 Black Belts by the year 2011. With this much participation unarmed combat taekwondo club is sure to get Chandigarh athletes qualifying for the forthcoming National and international championships.
Our State and National Taekwondo Medalist can avail scholarships which are provided by Chandigarh government & NIS Patiala.
The Taekwondo is already included in C.R.P.F., C.I.S.F., Punjab Police, SSB and Services. They all are attached with our Federation.
NIS and Certificate Course of Taekwondo has been started in Bangalore. There is a SAI (Sports Authority of India) Center for Taekwondo Subject.
SAI adopt schools for Taekwondo Training and give them aid for starting the Taekwondo Centre in School.
There is no other authorized association in Chandigarh to promote Taekwondo and Olympic discipline and there are other martial art, which are very different but dress wise they appear to be like Taekwondo and are misguiding athletes and school authorities.
Some other Taekwondo associations & Federations provide Taekwondo coaches but they all are not affiliated with Delhi Olympic Association & not recognized by Government of India
CTA & Unarmed combat taekwondo club endeavor to provide excellent coaches to school, who are familiar with the latest rules and regulations of the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF). This is important to prevent young children from picking up wrong techniques. Unarmed combat taekwondo club will extend every help in respect with technical support; Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) approved coaches to achieve desired goals.
Here again our Federation has put in lot of efforts to introduce Taekwondo in all institutions of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan Throughout the country. Similarly Delhi Public School Society, C.B.S.E. & School National Game Federation has included Taekwondo in their sport activities.
